Ellen’s life began on April 23, 1946 in Chicago. She is the daughter of Lester and Mary (Hochleutner) Voreck. She was united in marriage to Victor Devor on August 11, 1962 in Woodstock, IL. Ellen was retired from Beechcraft/Raytheon in Wichita. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sewing. Ellen’s greatest joy was taking care of her family which includes her husband Victor of Towanda, son Bruce(Sheila) Devor of Towanda, daughters Deborah Devor of Augusta, and Pamela Easterly of Wichita, nine grandchildren Sarah, Dustin, Hannah, Makenzi, Mariah, Victoria, Alexandra, Brianna and Erica, great grandchildren Preston and Gracelyn and her sister Linda Voreck of Augusta. Ellen passed away on Saturday February 11, 2017 at Lake Point of Augusta. She is preceded in death by her parents. Ellen’s family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Towanda on Thursday at 11 a.m. led by Pastor David Gibbs. Ellen will be laid to rest in Towanda Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to Victor to assist in furthering the grandchildren’s education.
