Barb’s life began on March 28, 1951, the daughter of Robert Dean and Francis (Pruitt) Rutliff in Fredonia, Kansas. She graduated from Rosalia High School Class of 1969. She graduated from Draughon Business College in Springfield, Missouri with a medical secretary degree. She worked for Saco Oil Company and the City of El Dorado as a clerk. Barb was united in marriage to David Lee Deen on August 23, 1991, in El Dorado. She was a member of Temple Baptist Church, loved her flower gardens and was an awesome artist/painter. Barb lived for her grandchildren and loved them dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, David; two brothers, Jack and Jim Rutliff. Barb passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, having reached the age of 65 years old.

Her loving family includes her daughters, Christina Willhite of El Dorado, Sherri (Jared) Cheak of Ozark, Missouri, Sarah Deen of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; sister, Debi (Lynn) Butler of Leon, Kansas; step-children, Branson Deen of Anthony, Kansas, Jarett Dean of Wichita and Caitlin Anders of El Dorado; 8 grandchildren, Lydia, Seth, Aaron, David, Brooklyn, Christian, Gabby and Sophie; and 1 great-grandchild on the way, and many nieces and nephews she loved like her own.

Her family will gather with friends on Thursday, February 23, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where her funeral will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, February 24, with Pastor Doug Hodgens officiating. She will be laid to rest at a later date in Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
