Tribute

Vivian’s life began on April 5, 1928 in Quincy, KS; the daughter of Grover C. and Edith (Sharp) Grossarth. Vivian was a 1946 graduate of Toronto High School, Toronto, KS. She was united in marriage to Albert Pendlay on May 1, 1944 in Yates Center. Vivian worked hard for her family keeping the family home in order. She was known for her cooking and meticulous care of her gardens. She enjoyed traveling, dancing and loved music. Her loving family includes her children, Myrna Gray of Augusta, Alan Pendlay of Arkansas City, Roy Pendlay of Arkansas City, Brad (Shelly) Pendlay of Leavenworth; grandchildren Debbie (Kevin) Lawrence, Denise (David) Donley, James (Alycia) Gray, Bruce (Melody) Pendlay, Albert Pendlay, John (Mindy) Pendlay, Rex (Miranda) Pendlay, Brandi Pendlay Aye, Christy Pendlay, Stacy Pendlay and Adam Pendlay; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; and brother, Bill Grossarth of Tahlequah, OK. Vivian passed away on November 19, 2022 in El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her husband, Albert, great grandson, Marshall Pendlay, sisters, Etha Demler, Mamie McJunkin, and Naomi Rayl and her parents. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 29 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home at 1pm. Graveside services will follow at 3:30pm at Toronto Cemetery, Toronto, KS.
