Stony Ben Thomas

June 15, 1953 ~ January 30, 2024 (age 70) 70 Years Old

Stony Ben Thomas, born on June 15, 1953, in El Dorado, Kansas, left this world on January 30, 2024, surrounded by his cherished family. He was the beloved son of Thomas Thomas and Dorothy (Poe) Thomas.
Stony's journey through life was marked by a passion for architecture that began when he graduated from Rosalia Flint Hills High School in 1971. Following his graduation, he pursued his dreams at a technical school where he honed his skills in architecture. His dedication and hard work laid the foundation for a career that would leave a lasting impact on those who crossed his professional path.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Stony was a man of diverse interests and hobbies. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, including playing horseshoes, engaging in the board game Wahoo, tending to his garden, and playing video games.
One of Stony's greatest joys was spending time with his family. His genuine love and care created a multitude of beautiful memories that will forever linger in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him.
Stony will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him. As we bid farewell to a cherished son, father, brother, and friend, let us celebrate the legacy of a man whose kindness, warmth, and infectious laughter will forever remain in our hearts.
Stony is survived by his mother, Dorothy Thomas; his children, Burt (Kayla) Thomas, of El Dorado, Kansas, and Buck Thomas; his grandsons, Stony Thomas and Noah Thomas; his sister, Betty (Glen) Melson, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in passing by his father, Tom Thomas; his two sons, Lane Thomas and Shane Thomas; his brothers, Timothy Thomas and Roger Thomas; and his sister, Theresa.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2nd from 1-2 pm at Carlson Funeral Home with funeral services starting at 2:00 pm. Stony will be laid to rest at Burns Cemetery immediately following the service.
