Simon Oliver Wright, Jr.

Simon’s life began on July 20, 1927 in Greenwich, KS; the son of Simon and Cleda (Butler) Wright. He was united in marriage to Helen Hoskins on January 27, 1947 in El Dorado. Simon worked hard for his family, farming and later working as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Simon enjoyed working with his hands and loved to create. He could build just about anything out of wood or metal, whether it was furniture or fencing or anything you could think of. His greatest joy was his family which includes his wife, Helen of El Dorado; children Cheryl (Bill) Wright of Moorecroft, Wyoming, Mike (Kim) Wright of Towanda, Teresa “Sue” (John) Greep of Hutchinson and Chuck (Patricia) Wright of Augusta; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Simon passed away on November 21, 2021 in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister and 3 brothers. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, November 27, at 11 am at Towanda Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Simon’s name may be directed to the Midian Shriners for Transportation Costs.
