Robert Carl "Bob" Meyer died on November 18, 2022, at the age of 77.

Bob was born and raised in Clovis, New Mexico, where he was a standout high school baseball player for the Clovis Wildcats. Bob continued his baseball career at Frank Phillips Junior College, Borger, Texas, and then at Panhandle State University, Goodwell, Oklahoma. Bob was incredibly lucky and grateful to attend college on scholarships at PSU for baseball and ROTC (U.S Army) and majored in Education. Upon graduation, Bob was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant, U.S. Army, and headed off to various Army bases for basic training and Officer Candidate School.

In 1968, Bob married Kaye, his devoted wife of 54 years, in Texhoma, Oklahoma. Shortly after they were married, Bob was deployed to Vietnam, where he served one tour of duty as a MAC-V advisor and infantry unit commander. After his service, Bob returned home and taught physical education at South Junior High in Liberal, Kansas. He obtained a master's degree in guidance counseling from Western Colorado University, Gunnison, Colorado, and started working as a guidance counselor at Liberal High School in 1977. In 1994, Bob transitioned into administration and teaching in post-secondary education, most recently working as an adjunct professor with Butler County Community College, El Dorado, Kansas, until 2020.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Robert R. Meyer and Jewell Meyer. He is survived by his wife, Kaye Meyer, Towanda, Kansas; his son, Trey Meyer and Trey’s fiancé, Jennifer Sivwright, Belton, Missouri; his daughter, Rene' Washburn, and son-in-law, Robert Washburn of Cedar Park, Texas; his sister, Barbara Boone, Amarillo, Texas; his sister, Beverly Pierce, Lubbock, Texas; his grandkids, Drew, Tate, and Reece Meyer, and their mother Jody Meyer, Lawrence, Kansas; and his grandkids, Lauren and Brandon Washburn, Cedar Park, Texas.
