With deep regret, the family of Oreta Blackwell is announcing her passing. Born in rural Butler County on a farm during The Depression. Oreta spent the first half of her life as a Kansas farm wife with horses, pigs, and cattle all while raising three children. She enjoyed casual horseback riding, classic country music, as well as time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren during her later years.

She is survived by adult children Joyce and husband Bob Dick (of Florida), Ron and wife Alice Blackwell (of Mississippi) and Rebecca and husband Mike Hess (of Kansas). As well as multiple grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many wonderful friends with whom she routinely enjoyed attending the senior dances and live country music concerts.
