Mary Louise Provorse

June 29, 1941 ~ July 19, 2022 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

- Provorse, Mary Louise, 81, wife and homemaker, passed away at home July 19, 2022. She was born to Harold William and Leta May Morris on an oil lease in Oklahoma.

Mary was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She loved quilting and made quilts for many family members.

Mary was a spelling bee champion at Barnsdall elementary and a 50 and 75 yd dash, and a 100 yard relay champion in Jr high. When they were both 14 years old, she met John, the love of her life. She worked to put John through school and was very proud that they always owned their home, they never had to rent.  One of her favorite memories was the 5 & 1/2 week vacation that the whole family took in 1979 to the SW and NW USA and parts of Canada.

Mary was a stay-at-home mom and was very proud that all her girls got college degrees. After the kids were in school, she worked at SBA hospital as a CNA. Mary volunteered at school, listening to children read, and later in life she became one of the "pink ladies", volunteering at the local hospital.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents; brother, William Edward Morris; brother-in-law, Barry Detweiler; and grandchildren, Shawnee Redman and Scott Provorse.

Mary is survived by her husband of 60 years, John Provorse; daughters, Vicki (Joseph) Redman, Janet (Bryon Kuhn) Provorse, Susan (Patrick) Mileham, Pam (Tim) Schelske; grandchildren, Robert A. Redman, Ryan, Logan, and Jessica Provorse, Nicholas and Brenna Mileham, Marcus, Jonathan, and Evan Schelske; great-granddaughter Lexus Schelske; Sisters, Martha Morris and dear friend, Sally Cox, Ann (Larry) Powell; brother, John Morris; and many nieces and nephews.
