Lester “Glen” Gruver’s life began on January 27, 1931 in Viola, KS; the son of Joseph and Nettie (Coffelt) Gruver. Glen graduated in 1950 and then went on to proudly serve his country in the United States Army. He was a Master Sergeant and earned a Bronze and Silver Star. He was united in marriage to Barbara “Bobbie” Crelly on October 8, 1955 in El Dorado. Glen worked hard for his family and retired working as a Pumper for Cities Service Oil Company. Glen enjoyed gardening and fishing. His family includes his children Larry (Chere) Gruver of Mesa, AZ, Jerry (Cynde) Gruver of El Dorado, KS, and Gary Gruver of Washington, D.C.; grandchildren Ryan Gruver, Jason Gruver, Melissa Gruver, Amber (Jared) Weinfrutner and great-grandchildren Mamie, Miles, Evert and Cecelia. Glen passed away on March 28, 2023 in El Dorado. He is preceded in death by this wife, Bobbie; 1 sister, 7 brothers and his parents. Friends may gather with the family from 11-1 on Monday, April 3 at Carlson Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 1pm. Glen will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the Wounded Warriors Project.
