James "Jim" Thomas Zorn Sr.

James Thomas Zorn, Sr. was born on October 17, 1936 in Olpe, KS; the son of Otto and Inez (Denner) Zorn. He was a semi-truck driver for Emporia Soy Bean Mill. On September 15, 1957, Jim was united in marriage to Thelma “Jean” How. Together, Jim and Jean would square dance the night away. Upon his retirement, he took interest in farming. Jim’s greatest joy in life was his family which includes his daughters, Durinda (Bob) Schiltz of Garden City, Patricia Rush of Aurora, CO and Diana (Brian) Laskey of Canon City, CO and son, Jim (Edna) Zorn, Jr. of Benton, KS; 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren; and brothers, Marvin (Ruby) Zorn, Don Lee Zorn and Raymond Zorn. Jim passed away on September 17, 2023 in Wichita, KS. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jean; and several siblings. Cremation has taken place and Jim will be laid to rest at the Walnut Valley Memorial Park in El Dorado. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the American Heart Association.
