Irvin "Mac" Lee McDowell

Tribute

Irvin “Mac” Lee McDowell was born on July 25, 1934 in Cherryvale, Kansas; the son of James Irvin McDowell and Naomie Kemp. He was a graduate from Coffeyville High School. Mac faithfully served his country in the United States Air Force. On September 2, 1953, Mac was united in marriage to Beulah Failor in Cheyenne, Wyoming; together they shared 70 wonderful years together. He was an operator at the refinery in El Dorado for many years and when he wasn’t working he was an avid fisherman. He was a member of Patmos Masonic Lodge #97. Mac’s greatest joy in life was his family which includes his wife, Beulah; son, Jim (Norma) McDowell; daughters, Teresa (Bob) Walker and Kim (Brook) Clark; grandchildren, Troy (Natalia) McDowell, Tracy McDowell, Mackenzie Mitchel, Ashley Ingalls and Kaitlyn (Gabe) Higgins; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Greta (Mike) Sommers. Mac passed away at his home on September 9, 2023. He is preceded in death by his father, James; mother, Naomie; stepmother, Goldie; brother, James C. McDowell; and sister, Lavone Stevenson. Friends may gather with his family on Monday, September 18 from 9-10 AM at Carlson Colonial Chapel and a funeral service will immediately follow.
