Geraldine "Jeri" Austin

Jeri’s life began on April 5, 1947 in Russell, KS; the daughter of Harold and Ella (Digney) Keith. She earned her Master’s Degree in clinical social work and worked as a Behavioral Therapist until retirement. Mental health and care was very important to her and she loved her work deeply. In Jeri’s spare time, she enjoyed puzzles and birdwatching. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and spending time with family. Jeri always answered the phone and was a great listener to her family and friends.. Her greatest joy was her family which includes her children: Dalton (Tara Emmons) McEachern of Augusta, Dameon (Dawn) McEachern of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; Vickie (Mike) Urban of Wichita, Jeff (Christina) Austin of El Dorado, Carmodee Gregory of El Dorado, Cam (Mikhayla) Austin of El Dorado, Vanessa (Eric) Gilge of Ft. Leavenworth, KS; Jimelle “JayDee.” Austin of Augusta; 25 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, sister Sue (Roger) Gibson of Temple, Texas. Jeri passed away on August 7, 2022 in Augusta. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Hal Keith; sisters, Joyce Hughes, Ranny Inglish, Dottie Swibold and grandsons Trevor and Dalton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, August 15, 2022 at 10am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in El Dorado. Jeri will be laid to rest at Sunset Lawns Cemetery in El Dorado.
