Gay Lynn Spencer

Gay Lynn Spencer, of El Dorado, Kansas, passed away on November 1, 2021 at the age of 60. Gay was born on June 7, 1961 in Dodge City, Kansas to Ernest Henry and Ardis Melinda (Busby) Brack. After high school she decided to further her education and earned a Master’s Degree. She used that degree to become a Soil Conservationist for the United States Department of Agriculture. She loved her career and worked for the USDA for 32 years before retirement. Gay had a love for animals, but especially for cats. She rescued many cats in her lifetime, but she would probably say that those cats rescued her. She was a very loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be dearly missed.
Gay is survived by her brother, Gerald Brack; sister, Cheryl (Richard) Freeman; brother-in-law, Donnie Diehl; nieces and nephews, Kristy (David) Luckey, Michelle Freeman, Justin Freeman, Sheila (Joel) Dunlavy, and April (David) Hughes; several great nieces and great nephews; and her beloved Cats, Petey Spencer (Age 13), Freddie Spencer (Age 9), and Frankie Spencer (Age 2).
Gay is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest Henry and Ardis Melinda (Busby) Brack; brother, Harold Eugene Brack; sister, Brenda Sue Diehl; nephew, Sean Alan Brack; and sister-in-law, Debra Brack.
Due to Gay’s love for animals, memorial donations in her name can be made out to Heartstrings Animal Advocates, Inc.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 5, 2021 at 10:00am at Burrton Cemetery in Burrton, Kansas.
