Alice’s life began on January 18, 1941 in Oaks, OK. She is the daughter of Lester and Lenora Anna (Davis) Stapleton. Alice is a graduate of Eskridge High School and attended college to study Art. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Johnson on January 12, 1957 in Council Grove. Alice enjoyed playing pitch with her clubs in Hutchison and at the VFW in El Dorado, and her bunco club. She is a member of the Church of God International. Alice’s loving family includes her husband Robert of El Dorado; children Dr. Rosemarie “Rose” A. (Bob Janssen) Johnson-Wilson of El Dorado, Silvia J. Johnson of Washington, DC, Lorena May (John) Case of Hutchison, Robert (Rachael Lopez) Johnson, Jr. of Garden City; ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren; and sisters Evelina J. Van Fossen of Missouri and Ida Mae Kraus of Park City. Alice passed away on September 1, 2017 at Lakepoint of El Dorado. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Raymond, Edward, and Irvin Stapleton. Her family will gather with friends on Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Carlson Funeral Home, where her funeral service will be held on 11 a.m. led by Pastor Max Davis. She will be laid to rest in Benton Cemetery. Memorial contributions in her name may be directed to the family in care of Rose Wilson.
