Roy “Butch” Andrews

Butch’s life began on November 12, 1937, son of Jesse and Bonnie (Wilks) Andrews in El Dorado, Kansas. He attended El Dorado High School Class of 1956. Butch served his country in the U.S. Army, 11th Airborne. He married Darlene Faye Tompkins on May 6, 1995 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Butch retired from the Butler County Sherriff’s Department.

He was a member of the Masons, Consistory, the Shriners and the Law Enforcement family. Butch loved to golf, fish, camp and spend time with family.

His loving family includes his wife, Darlene Andrews of the home; son and wife, Walker and Rose Andrews of El Dorado; step-sons and their wives, Mike and Shelby McBride of Basehor, Kansas, Casey and Kelly McBride of Shawnee, Kansas; brother and wife, John and Connie Andrews of El Dorado; 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Karen Andrews. Butch passed away, Thursday, May 11, 2017, having reached the age of 79 years old.

His family will gather with friends for a memorial service on Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 p.m. at the Carlson Colonial Chapel with Pastor Stan Seymour officiating.
