Rosie Alice Kinkaid

Rosie’s life began on April 22, 1922, in Selman, Oklahoma, the daughter of David and Suzanna (Martin) Hopp. She graduated from Buffalo High School and attended one year of Business College. She was a member of the U.S. Army WAAC from 1943-1946. She married Charles “Jack” Emmett Kinkaid on September 13, 1947, in Wichita. Rosie was a pastor’s wife and was a spiritual influence to many. She was also an artist and loved to paint.

Her loving family includes her daughters, Linda Ward of El Berta, Alabama, Jacque Schneider of Wichita, Janice and her husband Ron Floyd of Derby; sons and their wives, Michael and Sharon Kinkaid of Derby and Jeff and Julie Kinkaid of Towanda; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; spouse, Charles “Jack” Kinkaid; son, Charles Kinkaid III; 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Rosie passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2017, at Lakepoint of El Dorado, having reached the age of 94 years old.

Her memorial service will be held Friday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Carlson Colonial Chapel led by Pastor Tom Boerma of Fairview Baptist Church.
