Celebration of life for Orville Richard McCune will be held on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Carlson Funeral Home in El Dorado, with Pastor John Hull officiating and burial following in the Benton Cemetery in Benton, KS. Orville went to be with our Lord, surrounded by family, on Monday, February 13, 2017, at his home in Benton, at the age of 87.

Orville was born May 26, 1929, in Benton, KS, the son of Leonard and Elizabeth (Egan) McCune. He had lived in Benton all his life and served his country in the United States Navy. Orville married Helen Rae Hall on May, 26, 1984, in Benton, KS. He worked as a pumper for the Derby Refining Company for 35 years. Orville was a member of the American Legion in Eldorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Everett, Kenneth, Vernon, Chuck and Alfred McCune.

Orville is survived by his wife, Rae, of the home; children, Scott McCune of Albuquerque, NM, Dr. Doug McCune of Kansas City, MO; step children, Mary Shain and husband, Brent of Hugo, OK, Susan Gillespie and husband Jimmy of Mustang, OK, Pamela Martin and husband Danny Ray of Montgomery, AL; brothers, Merle McCune of Pratt, KS, and Marvin McCune of Round Rock, TX; 12 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren.  Please sign his online guestbook and leave a memory of Orville at www.carlsonkirbymorris.com.
