Linda’s life began on January 24, 1942 in Stillwater, OK.  She is the daughter of Gaines and Louise (Ludicke) West.     Linda was united in marriage to Donald Billingsley on June 19, 1963 in Denton, Texas.   She earned her bachelor’s degree at Oklahoma State and her Master’s degree from Kansas State.  Early in her career, Linda was an elementary school teacher in Oklahoma before moving to Texas and subsequently Eldorado with Don.  In Kansas, Linda started the Reverlie Lane Preschool in El Dorado, and was the co- owner of the Golden Thimble quilting store.  Eventually Linda returned to education at Butler County Community College in Andover and then the Main Campus and eventually retiring as a dean from the College.     She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, quilting club, book club, Kiwanis, P.E.O. and the B.C.C.C. Education Foundation.  She was fortunate to have been able to travel extensively to wonderful places such as Greece, France, Italy, Spain, England, and China with her friends and mother.  Linda is survived by her son David (Angela) Billingsley of St. Joseph, MO, grandson Davin Billingsley, brother Gaines (Susan) West of College Station, TX and nieces Shelly, Whitney and Hannah.  Linda passed away on February 15, 2017 in Waco.  She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don in 2015.   Her family will gather with friends on March 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church for her memorial service.  Memorial contributions in Linda’s name may be directed to the Butler Community College Education Foundation.  Carlson Funeral Home is serving the family.  Please sign her online guestbook and leave a memory of Linda at www.carlsonkirbymorris.com.
