Kenneth’s life began on November 5, 1943 in rural Stafford County, Kansas. He is the son of John H. and Minnie E. (Black) Guthrie. Kenneth was a graduate of Butler County Community College and served his country in the United States Army. He was united in marriage on December 26, 1968 to the former Judy Wohlgemuth in Towanda. Kenneth worked for Beech Aircraft for 42 years retiring as an engineer. He enjoyed tinkering on projects, being outside and never quite finished his “honey do” list. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Guthrie of Towanda, children Stacy (Allen) Adams of Towanda, Brenda (Danny) White of Towanda, and Sandra (Tom) Aitchison of Augusta, grandchildren Alex Hamlin, Chelsea Hamlin, Jaxson McCune, Jared White, Beth Parker, Lucas Aitchison, Caleb Aitchison, Tyler Adams and Justin Adams, great grandchildren Corey and Nova White, brothers John Guthrie and Keith (Janet) Guthrie, both of Eureka and sister Norma Harrison of Pratt. Kenneth passed away at his home on February 13, 2017. He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Robert and Richard Guthrie. His family will gather with friends on Friday from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home where his funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Kenneth will be laid to rest in Towanda Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions in his name may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Harry Hynes Hospice or the Towanda Senior Center.
