Ruthann’s life began on January 22, 1945, the daughter of Owen and Helen (Tietz) Hanks in Great Bend, Kansas. She graduated from El Dorado High School and married Thomas J. Collier on February 19, 1966, in El Dorado.

Ruthann retired from The Salvation Army working in the office and in their store. She has lived in El Dorado since 1949, and enjoyed crocheting and attending the Family Worship Center in El Dorado.

Her loving family includes her sons, Paul and Lawrence “Larry” Collier both of El Dorado; brother, Walter and his wife Colleen Hanks of Wichita; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Thomas in 2002; a daughter, Lisa Braden; and two brothers, Bill and Dick Hanks. Ruthann passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, having reached the age of 72 years old.

Her family will gather on Monday, June 26, from 5-7 p.m. Her funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 27, at 1:30 p.m. both at the Carlson Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest at Walnut Valley Memorial Park.
