Geraldine Marsh

March 1, 1938 ~ March 14, 2024 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Tribute

Geraldine Ann Marsh was born on March 1, 1938, in El Dorado, Kansas, the daughter of Stanley and Dorothy Myers. She was married on December 19, 1955, to Bob Marsh in El Dorado. Together they had two sons, Bobby born in 1957 and Rodney born in 1960.

After 23 years as a wife and mother, Gerry began her 33-year career in law enforcement at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, first as a dispatcher and then as the Office Manager to five different Sheriffs. She really loved the work, and it became a true passion of hers as she continued to work there until her early seventies.

She enjoyed her grandchildren, especially attending their school and sporting events. Gerry was an avid reader of mystery novels and loved going to the bookstore anytime she got the chance. Gerry was also a cat lover, as she had many over the years. She loved her friends and really enjoyed the coffee time she had with Glenda, Janie, Marilyn, and others.

Geraldine is survived by her sons, Bob (Judy) Marsh, of Plainfield, Illinois, Rodney (Debbie) Marsh of Wichita, Kansas; grandchildren, Brandon (Lindsay) Marsh, of Wichita, Kansas, Amanda (Ashley) Marsh, of Wichita, Kansas; great grandchildren, Quinn and Hudson; sister, Marilyn Young, of Wagner, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Roy Lee Myers and Butch Myers and sister Pat Lipsey.

Geraldine passed away on March 14, 2024, at the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita. She was 86 years old.
