Betty was born in a farmhouse in Sharon, Kansas, the daughter of Leonard and Jennie (Hill) Brown on January 15, 1924. She graduated from Whitewater High School and later received her CNA accreditation. She married Milton Wohlgemuth on July 8, 1942, in Newton, Kansas.
Betty worked at Wesley Medical Center as a Unit Clerk and was a member of the Towanda United Methodist Church, UMW, Nokomis, Bridge Club and enjoyed gardening. After retirement Milton and Betty enjoyed traveling with their good friends Lora Mae and Carol Dunlap.
Her loving family includes her sons, Dale (Ginny) Wohlgemuth of Leon, Rodney (Carol) Wohlgemuth of Towanda; daughters, Judy Guthrie of Towanda, Susan Sullivan of Wichita, Jan Wohlgemuth of Augusta, Shelly (John) Gray of Towanda and Becky Waldschmidt of Wichita; sisters, Joan Thaut and Jean Aflague both of Hastings, Nebraska; 20 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton in 2004; two brothers, Merle and Lawrence Brown and a grandson, Landon Waldschmidt. She passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday, June 22, 2017, having reached the age of 93 years old.

Her family will gather with friends on Monday, June 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Carlson Funeral Home. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 27, at 10:30 a.m. at the Towanda United Methodist Church with Pastor John Martyn officiating.
