Daniel “Dan” Louis Walton’s life began on January 6, 1953 the son of John and Luella (Richards) Walton in Burbank, CA. He graduated from California State University Northridge. Dan worked for over 40 years as a Preliminary Design Engineer for Beechcraft which became Textron. He enjoyed designing and building model airplanes. Dan was a member of St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Wichita and a member of Wichita Historical Aircraft Modelers/SAM 56 also known as WHAM/SAM 56. Dan passed away on September 26, 2017 at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. His loving family includes his wife Cynthia (Horst) Walton; children Jessica Moon of Pratt, Cassandra (Josh) Smith of Oaklawn, KS, Steven Points of El Dorado, KS, Jeremy (Carrie) Moon of Pratt,KS, and Zachary Moon of Pratt, KS; eleven grandchildren; brothers Matthew (Becky) Walton of Moorpark, CA, Steven (Michelle) Walton of Marysville, WA; sisters Amy Walton of Bethesda, MD, April (John) McIntyre of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Abby (Jon) Westerman of San Diego, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents John Louis and Luella Naomi (Richards) Walton and his brother, Andrew Walton. Memorial contributions in Dan’s name may be directed to the Lymphoma Association.
